Quality

After careful consideration during a due diligence phase, it was determined that PVD (physical vapour desposition) plating over stainless steel was the leading choice in giving the market an affordable yet durable jewellery collection with years of longevity.
Like electroplating, PVD gives a stunning appearance but is superior due to its added durability and strength.
PVD is different though because it represents a group of coating fabrication processes made in an artificially created vacuum. This technique was first developed by NASA and crossed over into the jewellery world in 2010. NASA scientists were tasked with devising a method to stop chrome from chipping when hit with force. PVD was the end result and is metal bonding at the molecular level. Hence, having improved scratch and wear resistance.
Another benefit to PVD gold plating is that it is more environmentally friendly than electroplating because it does not create any chemical waste. In addition to being eco-friendly, PVD is lightweight and low maintenance, which makes it a superior product to traditional electroplating.  All of these factors are integral to the label and align with our business' values.
The stainless steel base selected for Curated Jewellery is chosen for its hypoallergenic nature, its water-resistant properties and its more robust than sterling silver. However, some people may still react to our jewellery due to their individual skin pH levels.
